The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the formation of the new Syrian government. Secretary-General Hussein Ibrahim Taha congratulated the government and people of Syria, reaffirming the organization and its member states’ support for the Syrian people during this critical phase in their history, enabling them to complete the political transition peacefully and safely. The General Secretariat expressed readiness to cooperate with the new Syrian government, wishing it success in serving the Syrian people and achieving their aspirations for security, stability, and development.
