Health transformation boosts life expectancy to 78.8 years.

The Ministry of Health has affirmed its commitment to improving the quality of healthcare services and promoting health awareness in order to increase the average life expectancy in the Kingdom. The Ministry’s efforts, aligned with the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, have resulted in a significant rise in life expectancy from 74 years in 2016 to 78.8 years in 2024. This improvement is a result of various initiatives aimed at enhancing public health indicators and quality of life.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, the healthcare system has intensified its efforts to promote healthy lifestyles and habits. Awareness campaigns have been launched to encourage walking, healthy daily practices, and the importance of maintaining good health. These initiatives have played a crucial role in achieving the strategic goal of raising the life expectancy to 80 years by 2030.

In collaboration with other governmental entities, the Ministry of Health has implemented health and nutrition reforms. These initiatives include banning the use of hydrogenated oils, reducing salt content in foods, and mandatory labeling of calorie information on food products and restaurant menus. These measures have contributed to improving public health and reducing the prevalence of chronic diseases.

The Ministry of Health continues to work tirelessly to enhance preventive and therapeutic healthcare services with a focus on quality. The ministry is expanding awareness and health education programs, as well as increasing early disease screening initiatives. These efforts aim to raise life expectancy, reduce the incidence of chronic diseases, and improve overall quality of life for a healthier and more sustainable future.
