Tourism Accommodation Facilities to See a Boost with 475,000 Licensed Rooms by the End of 2024
The Ministry of Tourism has released preliminary data on the number and growth rates of licenses issued by the ministry in 2024. The number of licensed rooms reached 475,970 rooms, with a growth rate of 69% compared to 2023.
The Ministry’s official spokesman, Mohammad Al-Rassasema, explained that the increasing growth in the number of licenses issued for tourist hospitality facilities and the number of licensed rooms in these facilities is a result of the Ministry’s efforts to enable operators and investors in the hospitality sector to obtain the ministry’s license. This is part of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring the improvement of services provided by hospitality facilities to tourists coming from both domestic and international markets, amidst the significant boom in the tourism sector in the Kingdom and the increasing numbers of international and domestic tourists.
He added that these efforts are part of the “Our Guests First” campaign, which aims to enhance the commitment of hospitality facilities to license and classification standards, and to ensure compliance with the requirements set by the tourism system and its regulations.
