A total of 896 cases of banned items were seized by customs checkpoints on the borders, at sea, and in the air. This is part of the ongoing efforts by the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority to enhance security and protect society from various types and forms of prohibited items.

The confiscated items included 49 types of drugs such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and 452 other prohibited substances. Customs checkpoints also thwarted 1535 units of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 20 cases of illegal financial amounts, and two cases of weapons and their accessories.

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority emphasized their commitment to strengthening customs control over the imports and exports of the Kingdom, in order to ensure the security and protection of society. This is done through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partners.

The authority also urged everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy. They encouraged individuals to report any suspicious activities related to smuggling by contacting them through the designated security hotline “1910”, via email at “1910@zatca.gov.sa”, or the international number “009661910”.

Through these channels, the authority receives reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law in complete confidentiality. A financial reward is offered to the informant if the information provided in the report is accurate.
