Saudi Arabia on fast track towards Vision 2030 with record numbers and advanced indicators,reflecting significant progress.

Saudi Arabia races against time towards achieving a brighter future according to an ambitious vision and roadmap to build a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation. This is all under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense. This ambitious vision is based on the strengths bestowed upon the nation by God and is translated into reality as the Crown Prince stated, “Success stories always begin with a vision, and the most successful visions are those built on strengths.”

The Kingdom has undoubtedly undergone a qualitative transformation on all fronts, thanks to the significant progress made towards the goals of Vision 2030 through programs such as achieving the vision and integrated national strategies. This progress is attributed to the human and natural resources, investment capabilities, economic strength, Arab, Islamic, and international standing, and strategic geographical location of the Kingdom. Vision 2030 paints a path that enhances integration between culture and innovation, keeping pace with rapid global changes and opening up broader horizons for citizens, residents, and visitors from around the world. The vision is designed to be implemented in three main stages, with each stage lasting five years and building on the successes of the previous phase. The first stage focused on laying the foundations of transformation through comprehensive structural, economic, financial, and social reforms, while the second stage emphasized accelerating progress and maximizing benefits from priority sectors. The upcoming third stage is expected to enhance the sustainability of the transformation and capitalize on new growth opportunities.

In conjunction with the ninth year since the launch of the promising and ambitious Vision, the “Annual Report on Saudi Vision 2030 for the year 2024” provides a comprehensive overview of the vision, covering previous stages, achievements, and preparations for the next phase, as well as associated vision programs and national strategies. The executive summary section of the annual report outlines the performance of the vision in terms of first and second-level indicators, overall progress in the performance indicators of vision programs and initiatives, along with highlights of achievements in the three pillars of the vision: a vibrant society, a prosperous economy, and an ambitious nation.

According to the statistics from the Annual Report, 85% of completed initiatives are on the right track, totaling 674 completed initiatives and 596 on the right track out of a total of 1502 active initiatives. Furthermore, 93% of the Kingdom’s Vision indicators for programs and national strategies either achieved their stage targets, surpassed them, or are close to achieving them in 2024. This includes 257 indicators that exceeded their annual target, 18 indicators that met their annual target, and 8 Vision targets achieved six years ahead of schedule.

Several indicators have already achieved the 2030 targets ahead of time, such as surpassing 100 million tourists, registering 8 Saudi sites on the UNESCO World Heritage List, increasing the number of volunteers to 1.2 million, exceeding the 2030 target for female workforce participation to 33.5%, and achieving a historic drop in the unemployment rate to the Vision target of 7%. Additionally, the Kingdom climbed 32 positions in the e-participation index globally, ranking seventh worldwide, and jumped 30 positions in the United Nations e-Government Development Index to the sixth position globally, approaching its 2030 target of being among the top five positions. There are over 571 regional headquarters of international companies in the Kingdom, surpassing the 2030 target.

The achievements of Saudi Vision 2030 in its ninth year have surpassed expectations, demonstrating efficient planning, enthusiastic work, and the ambition of citizens. This was emphasized by the Crown Prince, who said, “As we enter the ninth year of Saudi Vision 2030, we are proud of the achievements of the sons and daughters of the nation. They have proven that challenges do not stand in the way of their aspirations. We have achieved our targets, surpassed some of them, and will continue our journey steadily towards our goals for 2030. We renew our determination to double efforts, accelerate implementation, capitalize on every opportunity, and enhance the Kingdom’s position as a leading global nation.”
