On a significant diplomatic visit, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, met today in Doha, the capital of Qatar, with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. This meeting was instrumental in addressing the robust bilateral relations between the two nations and exploring avenues for enhancing mutual cooperation to meet the aspirations of both their leaderships and peoples.

Following their discussions, Prince Faisal and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed presided over a meeting of the Executive Committee arising from the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. The session began with a review of the strong fraternal ties binding the two countries. The leaders deliberated on methods to foster these connections, both bilaterally and multilaterally, within the international community, particularly through the activities of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. During the meeting, the Executive Committee’s secretariat reviewed the council’s activities and the work of its subcommittees over the past period. They also discussed updates and preparatory work for the upcoming eighth council meeting. The committee assessed progress achieved in the initiatives launched during the seventh meeting of the council, which took place in Doha on May 21, 1445 AH, corresponding to December 5, 2023. Both sides commended the collaboration and coordination among the subcommittees of the Coordination Council and their respective working teams. They underscored the necessity of maintaining this momentum to realize the shared qualitative interests of their two nations and peoples.

By the end of the meeting, Prince Faisal and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed officially signed the minutes of the Executive Committee meeting for the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, marking a significant step forward in their diplomatic engagement.

Attending the meeting were key officials, including the Undersecretary of Political Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, and His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, the Saudi Ambassador to Qatar. Also present were Walid Al-Samaeel, the Director-General of the Minister’s Office, and Engineer Fahd Al-Harithi, the Secretary of the Executive Committee from the Saudi side.
