On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed bin Abdul Karim Al-Khuraiji represented Saudi Arabia at the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. During this session, which focused on “The Role of the Global South in Promoting Multilateralism,” the Deputy Minister highlighted the significance of Saudi Arabia’s participation as an invited member of the BRICS group, praising the invitation extended to the Kingdom during the 2023 Johannesburg Summit.
Eng. Al-Khuraiji expressed the Kingdom’s eagerness to collaborate with multilateral platforms to foster a future brimming with prosperity and opportunities, both for nations in the Global South and the international community at large. He articulated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing the work of BRICS and the broader international community in addressing escalating crises and alleviating tensions.
Moreover, he underscored that Saudi Arabia continues to spearhead efforts through the ministerial committee established by the exceptional joint Arab-Islamic summit and the International Coalition to implement the two-state solution, aiming to marshal global support towards ceasing violence, safeguarding civilians, and ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the affected areas in Palestine. He reiterated that pursuing the two-state solution remains the sole avenue to achieving lasting peace and security for all.
Eng. Al-Khuraiji reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to being a reliable and neutral partner in its endeavors to mitigate both regional and international escalations.
