The General Presidency for the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has unveiled its operational plan for the 1446 AH Hajj season, marking the largest initiative since the establishment of organizational frameworks for the pilgrimage.
This comprehensive plan consists of 120 diverse initiatives and 10 innovative pathways designed to enhance the digital experience for pilgrims visiting the sacred site of the Kaaba. In addition, it includes 50 educational and intellectual programs that will involve over 2,000 qualified Saudi personnel dedicated to serving the guests of Allah. A significant focus is placed on seven specialized pathways aimed at disseminating the central message of Hajj, communicated in multiple languages to reach a global audience.
In his speech at the plan’s launch, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, the head of religious affairs, emphasized the unwavering commitment of the leadership to provide every possible resource for the service of pilgrims, ensuring they enjoy a distinctive spiritual experience. He highlighted the integration of digital transformation and artificial intelligence tools to diminish the barriers of time and space, making the essence of the Hajj’s moderate and humanitarian message accessible worldwide, in various languages.
Dr. Al-Sudais remarked that the operational plan for the upcoming Hajj season is sharply focused on embracing digital and smart transformation while engaging with pilgrims and the global community in multiple languages. This move reflects the religious presidency’s dedication to aligning with the national vision of embracing digital transformation and pioneering advancements in technology, including artificial intelligence and robotics.
The plan aims to showcase the balanced message of the 1446 AH Hajj season through interactive, multilingual digital platforms that embody the objectives of Islamic law and promote moderate Islamic values. Central to this initiative is the commitment to enriching the experience of the guests of Allah through distinctive scientific, intellectual, and guiding initiatives that underscore values of moderation, tolerance, and balance. As part of the launch, a groundbreaking digital enhancement package was announced. This includes the second edition of the multi-lingual artificial intelligence robot “Minara,” an upgraded version of the interactive smart screens, a global electronic recitation platform, a digital application for Surah Al-Fatiha, a dedicated portal for pilgrims, and an app for informing about the Two Holy Mosques. These initiatives are tailored to accommodate the specific needs of the pilgrims and facilitate the performance of their religious rites in accordance with the prophetic traditions.
The operational plan revolves around three main pillars.
