Health Minister meets Indonesian counterpart in Jakarta, signs MOUs to strengthen healthcare cooperation

Saudi Minister of Health, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, met with the Indonesian Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, during his official visit to Jakarta. The meeting focused on enhancing healthcare cooperation between the two countries, particularly in improving medical services for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to enhance health readiness and improve their pilgrimage experience. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals of enhancing healthcare facilities readiness and delivering high-quality healthcare services efficiently.
Both parties exchanged best practices and experiences in hospital management and primary healthcare, while benefiting from Saudi Arabia’s experience in digital healthcare transformation and using artificial intelligence in disease diagnosis and hospital management. Additionally, they discussed opportunities for joint investment in the pharmaceutical and medical equipment industries.
The Saudi Health Minister and his Indonesian counterpart witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Health Holding Company and the Indonesian Ministry of Health for collaboration in healthcare. The agreement was signed by the CEO of the Saudi Health Holding Company, Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Haqbani, and Indonesian’s Director General of Human Health Resources at the Ministry of Health, Yuli Varianti.
Furthermore, the Saudi Health Holding Company signed another MoU with Nihada Ulama University in Surabaya to enhance cooperation in Indonesian healthcare professionals to support the healthcare sector in the Kingdom. The agreement was signed by Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Haqbani and the President of Nihada Ulama University, Professor Ahmed Yazidi, in the presence of the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, along with several ministry deputies and health specialization authorities.
These efforts are part of the Ministry of Health’s initiatives to strengthen international healthcare cooperation, expand global strategic partnerships, develop medical services, enhance their efficiency, and support innovation in modern technologies to improve healthcare quality and sustainability.
