King attends the opening of the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum: A Global Initiative Underway

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on his behalf, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, attended the opening of the 4th Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum, titled “Exploring the Future of Humanitarian Response,” at the King Faisal Conference Hall in Riyadh. The event was greeted by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the General Supervisor of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, along with other officials.

The forum began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a welcoming address by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar, expressing gratitude to King Salman for his support and emphasizing the importance of addressing the most vulnerable groups impacted by humanitarian crises. He highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian work, rooted in Islamic values and noble principles laid down by the founder, King Abdulaziz Al Saud, which have enabled the country to provide significant support to numerous nations facing disasters and crises.

Prince Faisal expressed his hope that the forum would serve as a platform for enhancing cooperation, pooling efforts, and developing innovative and sustainable solutions to improve the future of humanitarian response. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, in his speech, recognized the forum as a prominent event in the humanitarian field, supported by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He emphasized the need for collective action to address humanitarian challenges and draw lessons from the past to guide future endeavors.

The discussions during the forum aimed to facilitate collaboration and foster new initiatives that leverage modern technologies to enhance operational efficiency and optimize resources for humanitarian responses. Participants, including 132 speakers, engaged in 21 sessions focused on innovative models to meet humanitarian needs and improve the lives of millions in need worldwide.

The importance of coordinated efforts and partnerships between public and private sectors globally was emphasized throughout the event. Several agreements were signed to support international humanitarian efforts, including partnerships with WHO, UNICEF, the Islamic Development Bank, and the World Food Programme. These initiatives underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to humanitarian diplomacy and its role in alleviating human suffering worldwide.

In conclusion, Prince Faisal and attendees viewed a documentary highlighting the significance of professional solidarity in shaping the future of humanitarian response amid global challenges. The event concluded with the signing of agreements to support international humanitarian work, underscoring the Kingdom’s dedication to assisting those in need and promoting sustainable development globally. The evening ended with Prince Faisal honoring the sponsors of the forum and recognizing their valuable contributions to humanitarian causes.
