Ramadan: A Season of Abundance and Blessings

King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has addressed the citizens, residents of the Kingdom, and Muslims on the occasion of the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1446 AH. The speech was delivered by Minister of Media, Mr. Salman bin Yusuf Al-Dosari. In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, praise be to Allah who revealed in the Quran, “The month of Ramadan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.” Peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, mercy to the worlds, and upon his family and companions.

To the citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia and all Muslims, peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you. We thank Allah for granting us the blessed month of Ramadan, a month of mercy, forgiveness, and absolution from hellfire. As we congratulate you on the arrival of this noble month, we pray to the Almighty to grant us success in fasting and night prayers.

We express gratitude to the Almighty for the honor bestowed upon this blessed land in serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, pilgrims, and worshippers. This has been a tradition maintained by the kings of Saudi Arabia, following the unification under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman.

Muslims, Ramadan is a season of great blessings where the gates of heaven are opened, blessings are bestowed, rewards are multiplied, sins are forgiven, and the spirit of unity among Muslims is emphasized. It is imperative for us to seize this opportunity to obey Allah and seek His pleasure.

We pray to Allah to grant us continued security and safety, for all nations to experience peace, for our brothers and sisters in Palestine to live in security and stability, and for the protection of our country, the Islamic nation, and the world as a whole. He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive.

Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you all.
