Thunderstorms to persist in most regions of the kingdom until next Monday

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged people to take caution and stay in safe places as thunderstorms continue across most regions of the Kingdom until next Monday. They advised staying away from areas prone to flash floods, rivers, and not swimming in them. People were also asked to follow the instructions announced through various media outlets and social media platforms.

The region of Makkah is expected to experience moderate to heavy rain leading to flash floods, hail, dusty and sandy winds. This will affect areas like Taif, Mecca, Adham, Al Aridha, Ranya, Taraba, Al Muwaih, Al Kharj, and Hawtah. Light to moderate rain is forecasted for cities including Yanbu, Al Qunfudhah, the holy capital, Al Jamum, Bahra, and Riyadh. This rain may lead to flash floods, hail, and dusty winds affecting Riyadh, the capital, Diriyah, Tharmah, Al Mazahimiya, Afif, Al Dawadmi, Al Quway’iyah, Shaqra, Al Ghat, Al Zulfi, Al Majma’ah, Thadeq, Rumah, Al Rayn, Harimlah, Al-Kharj, Aldammam, Al Hurayq, Hutah Ibn Tamim, Marat, and Al Aflaj.

The Civil Defense Directorate also mentioned that the Northern Borders, Al-Jawf, Hail, Qassim, Eastern region, and Al-Baha will experience moderate to heavy rain, while regions like Tabuk, Al Madinah, Asir, and Jazan will have light to moderate showers.
