Intensive Efforts Underway to Increase Capacity at the Holy Mosque

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has increased the capacity of the services system provided at the Grand Mosque in preparation for the last ten days of Ramadan. Thousands of human and mechanical resources have been mobilized to ensure top-notch services for worshippers and pilgrims at the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. The presidency has allocated specialized teams to answer visitors’ questions at 38 points under the slogan “Ask Me.” Additionally, specialized cleaning teams work to clean the Grand Mosque in just 35 minutes, while daily fumigation is carried out using over 2 kilograms of oud, with 20 rounds conducted each day. Local prayer rugs have been designated in all main areas of the Grand Mosque, along with 33,000 luxury prayer mats, and the Black Stone, the Maqam Ibrahim, and the Yemeni corner are perfumed five times daily.

Furthermore, the presidency has prepared 428 electric stairs, 28 elevators, modern sound systems with 1,300 electric speakers, and harnessed power sources capable of providing up to 90,000 tons of cooling for the Grand Mosque. Other services include free luggage storage, designated prayer areas for the elderly and disabled to ensure their comfort, a children’s care center operating around the clock, and carts for pilgrimage rituals for both men and women. Additionally, prayer spaces have been prepared for seclusion during the last ten days of Ramadan, and a unified electronic platform has been established for booking transportation with various types of carts available.
