Border patrols in the Al-Ardah sector in Jazan region successfully intercepted the smuggling of 120 kilograms of the stimulant plant qat. The necessary legal procedures were carried out and the confiscated items were handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
In addition, patrols in the Al-Dayer sector in Jazan arrested an individual for attempting to smuggle 120 kilograms of qat. Similar legal procedures were completed against the perpetrator and the confiscated items were also handed over to the authorities.
Furthermore, patrols in the Al-Rubu’ah sector in Asir region apprehended seven individuals for attempting to smuggle 140 kilograms of qat. Legal steps were taken against them and they were handed over to the appropriate authorities along with the confiscated items.
Authorities urge citizens and residents to report any information related to drug trafficking activities by contacting emergency numbers such as “911” in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and “999” in other regions of the kingdom. They can also report to the General Directorate for Narcotics Control at “995” or via email at “995@gdnc.gov.sa”. All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
