Parcel Delivery Companies Transport Over 26 Million Shipments During Current Ramadan, Showing 18% Growth from Last Year

The General Authority of Transport revealed that licensed companies in parcel delivery have delivered more than 26 million shipments and parcels during the month of Ramadan in the year 1446 AH, with a growth rate of 18% compared to the same period last year. This record number reflects the efficiency of the logistics sector in the Kingdom and the commitment of licensed companies to improving the customer experience and efficiency in meeting the sector’s expectations in line with the targets of the national transportation and logistics services strategy.

The authority noted that on the 24th of Ramadan, the highest daily delivery rate was recorded, with the number of shipments exceeding 1.1 million within 24 hours, reflecting the sector’s high readiness and operational readiness to deal with the seasonal increase in demand. The performance recorded in the current Ramadan season is a continuation of the rapid growth in the parcel transport sector, as nearly 22 million shipments were delivered during Ramadan in the year 1445 AH “2024 AD”, while shipments in Ramadan 1444 AH “2023 AD” reached about 14 million shipments, indicating growth of over 86% in just two years.

The authority praised the integration of efforts and effective partnerships with a number of relevant government agencies, the interaction of more than 70 licensed companies in the sector, and their commitment to operational plans related to major seasons, contributing to the improvement of service efficiency and achieving this qualitative accomplishment. The General Authority of Transport affirmed that these numbers reflect the continuous development in the postal and logistics transport system, and its ability to keep pace with the growth of e-commerce and support the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at making the Kingdom a global logistics center and a key hub in international trade.
