Fulk Maritime Acquires Second Container Ship, Renames It ‘Fulk Jazan’

Fulcrum Maritime Services, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund, has announced the acquisition of its second container ship named “Fulcrum Jazan”. The ship has already begun its operational services to serve the company’s maritime routes in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf.

The registration of this ship at Jeddah Islamic Port is a significant step towards enhancing regional maritime connectivity and solidifying Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub. Paul Hispbeck, the CEO of Fulcrum Maritime, stated that the acquisition of the “Fulcrum Jazan” under the Saudi flag, which is part of a growing fleet of six ships, is a strategic milestone that enhances Fulcrum Maritime’s operational flexibility and reduces reliance on leased vessels.

This strategic investment reflects the company’s commitment to developing the Kingdom’s maritime capabilities and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 directly, aiming to become a global logistics hub. Expansion of the company’s fleet, which began with the acquisition of “Fulcrum Jeddah” in September 2024 and now operates from Jeddah Islamic Port, enhances regional trade and highlights our commitment to expanding our contributions to the regional economy.

The “Fulcrum Jazan,” built in 2008 by Zhejiang Shipbuilding Company in China, has a carrying capacity of 2015 standard containers. This ensures operational flexibility and significantly expands Fulcrum Maritime’s service network. The ship is designed to meet various container shipping requirements, striking a crucial balance between capacity and operational efficiency to ensure smooth and reliable service.
