Saudi King Salman Launches Two Medical Projects in Gambia for Women’s and Children’s Healthcare

The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid carried out two voluntary medical projects in the city of Banjul, Republic of The Gambia, from February 15 to 22, 2025. The projects focused on women’s and childbirth surgeries, as well as general surgeries for children. A total of 19 volunteers with various medical specializations participated in the campaign.

During the campaign, the volunteer medical team conducted 47 surgeries for women and childbirth, 37 surgeries in the field of vascular surgery, 12 surgeries in pediatric urology, and 11 surgeries for children. All surgeries were successful, and the team expressed gratitude for the outcomes.

President Adama Barrow of The Gambia met with the Saudi volunteer delegation involved in implementing the medical projects in Banjul. He expressed his gratitude for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Center for Relief in serving his people. President Barrow also honored the members of the volunteer medical team for their dedication.

Additionally, the wife of the Gambian president visited the headquarters of the voluntary medical campaign, commending the efforts made to serve the patients.

These voluntary medical projects are part of Saudi Arabia’s humanitarian efforts through the King Salman Center for Relief, aimed at assisting needy and affected populations worldwide.
