The President of the Bahrain Journalists Association, Mr. Issa Al-Shaigi, has announced the launch of a logo marking the association’s celebration of its silver jubilee and 25 years since its founding. He emphasized that this occasion is a significant milestone in the association’s journey, which is a result of the reform project carried out by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain. Al-Shaigi praised the great support and generous care received by the association and Bahraini journalism from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who has played a significant role in empowering journalists, enhancing their national role, and supporting freedom of opinion and expression.

Al-Shaigi highlighted that over the past quarter-century, the association has achieved notable accomplishments at the local and international levels, with many of its members holding leadership positions and contributing to shaping Arab and international media decisions. He also stated that the association has trained thousands of journalists inside and outside Bahrain and played a crucial role in defending journalists’ rights and freedoms.

Al-Shaigi revealed that the association is planning a large celebration for this occasion, during which the founders and supporting entities will be honored, along with hosting various quality events throughout the year. He called on the journalistic community and various entities to participate and engage with these activities.

He also expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported the association over the years, including individuals and institutions in both the public and private sectors, praising their role in supporting national journalism. Al-Shaigi explained that the silver jubilee logo for the founding of the association, designed by the esteemed Bahraini artist Abdulaziz Abdulhamid, will be officially adopted and used in all the association’s events throughout the entire year as a symbol of pride in this journey.
